Wed. Feb 18th...Well, it was mid-20's when we left GH at 5:30pm. Good drive through Mich on I96 to I75 and south. Rest areas all open (important) and nice and clean, because as Rod would say "yeah, Graaaanholm spent 1.4 million on each of them"...of course, she's a woman and would think of those things! The drive through Ohio was fine also and we got into Kentucky before stopping for a rest. Half of the rest areas in Kentucky are closed. Roads were smooth sailing...

Thurs. Feb 19th...Started out early continuing down !75 south. Mark had to stop and buy some fireworks. Nice trip through Tennessee, however half of their rest areas were also closed. Got down into Georgia (The Land of Billboards) and of course ran into all kinds of traffic in Macon & Atlanta...it's the one state I despise driving through, unless its very late at night. Finally arrived in Florida in the early hours of Friday.

Fri. Feb 20th...Beautiful sunny morning on the Atlantic coast of Fla. We drove the Grand Prix out onto the beach at Daytona. This is where the very first speed records were made in both automobiles and motorcycles. Very smooth for driving, these flats were used before the Salt Flats of Utah which are used today. Super day, although a tad cool. Only in the high 60's here today. We got into our hotel, the Four Points by Sheraton in Cocoa Beach where we will be for a couple of nights before the cruise leaves. Nice pool and large hot tub. Restaurant at the hotel has a shark tank, very cool. Oh, they had great food also. Their thin crust stone-baked pizza was a hit with us. Our hotel is next door to the famous Ron Jon's Surf Shop.

Sat. Feb 21st...A little warmer today, into the low 70's. Beautiful day, but very blustery. Took a walk on Cocoa Beach, got back and hung out by the pool & in the hot tub. So nice to see the (warm) sun again!
